3RD AND 4TH SESSIONS OF THE FEDERAL COUNCIL OF FENASSCO LEAGUE ‘A’

The FENASSCO League ‘A’ Federal Council recently concluded its 3rd and 4th sessions on Friday March 1 2024 at The Teachers Resource Centre. It was presided over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Secondary Education, Professor Pierre Fabien Nkot, personal representative of the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga. This was in the presence of the council members: Representatives from MINESUP, MINESEC, MINEDUB, MINAS, MINEFOP, MINFI MINJEC, CNPC, CNOSC, and executive members of the council, and some top-ranking officials of MINESEC. In his word to the press, Professor Pierre Fabien Nkot, “I will like to draw your attention to the fact that the Federal Council was created in 2012. So, it is ten years later, under the leadership of Professor Nalova Lyonga that you had the first and second sessions of the Federal Council of FENASSCO. Today we are having under her leadership the third and fourth sessions. We are trying to review what happened since 2022 and trying to anticipate what is forth coming”.

During the session, a comprehensive report on the activities of the 2023 edition of the FENASSCO League ‘A’ Games finals was presented. This report highlighted the successful organization of the 2023 school games as well as the various champions and the awards they received.

In addition, the council discussed the financial statement for the 2022 and 2023 editions of the FENASSCO League ‘A’ games. The council presented a transparent and detailed breakdown of income and expenditure incurred during the events, a statement which demonstrated the prudent financial management and accountability exercised by the council, ensuring the proper utilization of funds for the benefits of the participating schools and athletes.

In an effort to continually improve and enhance FENASSCO games, the council drafted the action plan for the year 2024 which outlined the various initiatives aimed at elevating the standard of the competition.

The session then focused on the preparations for the national finals of FENASSCO League ‘A’ games, which are scheduled to be held at Mokundange-Limbe. The Council provided an update on the progress made in organizing the event, including venue arrangements, accommodation facilities, and security measures.

This marked an important achievement in the journey to promoting secondary school sports which reflects the councils’ commitment towards fostering sports excellence and nurturing young talents. With Mokundange-Limbe well underway, in the words of Professor Pierre Fabien Nkot, ‘Let me cease this opportunity to mention to you that very soon, in the month of April, we will have our games in Limbe-Mokundange. Let all participate knowing they are contributing to the edifice which Madam the Minister is building’.
